Spread Christmas joy by stocking the Elf Shelf!
For this holiday season, Kiawah Cares is partnering with Edith L. Frierson Elementary School and their PTA to support their first annual Stock the Elf Shelf.
Frierson will have two “Pop Up Shops” run by the PTA and staff: one for students to shop for gifts for their parents, and one for parents to pick out gifts for their children.
POP-UP SHOP WITH ITEMS FOR PARENTS
The first shop is for students to shop for their parents and family. Throughout the school year, students earn tokens for Random Acts of Kindness, which they will use to “buy” presents for their family members.
- Please stock the shelves with: gently used or new hats, scarves, gloves, candles, ties, mugs, lotions, perfumes, kitchen supplies, home decor, decorative jars (for kids to decorate and fill with candies), etc.
POP-UP SHOP WITH ITEMS FOR KIDS
The second shop is for parents to shop for their children. Like former “Angel/Giving Tree” programs this makes sure children have a present to open during the holidays. There are seven grade levels at Frierson Elementary.
If possible we would like for each sponsor to donate a gift for each of the following age groups:Primary 1: 3-4 year oldsPrimary 2: 5 year olds1st grade: 6 – 7 years old2nd grade: 7 – 8 years old3rd grade: 8 – 9 years old4th grade: 9 – 10 years old5th grade: 10-11 years old
- Please consider moderately priced gifts ($5-40) and a mix of boys and girls. Please stock the shelves with new, unwrapped: toys, games, art supplies, activity kits, books, pajamas, etc. If possible we would like for each sponsor to donate one gift for each age group to ensure every child will receive a gift.
DONATION DROP OFF
Please bring unwrapped gifts to: Beachwalker Center (23 Beachwalker Drive) and drop them in the collection bins in the lobby by Friday, Dec. 7 (no later than 4 p.m.).
