From weddings, proms and parties, you may be surprised at the beautiful attire to be found in your children’s or grandchildren’s closets that they’ll never wear again. Wouldn’t they love to give their clothing a second chance with less fortunate teens?
Kiawah Cares is sponsoring a Prince and Princess Closet for St. John’s High School students. Help local students look and feel amazing at their upcoming Homecoming Dance on Sept. 30 with donations of formal wear.
Under-resourced, at-risk teenagers will be selected by the school to “shop” for this dressy affair. You can help stock the shelves and create a night these teens won’t forget. Kiawah Cares is currently seeking age-appropriate cocktail, prom or even bridesmaids dresses, clutches, accessories and costume jewelry in good condition. For young men, ties, suits (or pants and coats) and dress shirts would be appreciated. Dress shoes for both young men and young women, unused cosmetics, lotions, perfumes and men’s cologne are also requested.
Donations will be accepted through Thursday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 23 Beachwalker Drive.
