Change a Child’s Life With Reading

Have you ever gone on an adventure in your favorite chair? Seen amazing things without stepping outside your front door? Explored fantastic worlds with friends you just met?

All children can experience the wonder of reading, if only they have the skills to do so. Share your love of reading and change a child’s life by becoming a Reading Partner.

86% of students in Sea Island schools read below grade level, but you can help teach a child how to read in as little as one hour a week – unlocking a skill that is the foundation for all future learning and success.

No prior experience is needed and Reading Partners has some flexibility to work with you on a schedule that is convenient.

Get comprehensive, step-by-step instructions and a curriculum overview with a Q&A session at the October 2017 Reading Partner’s orientations. Sessions are designed for people who are ready to volunteer now, but those wanting more information are welcome to attend too.
