Adopt-a-Classroom Supports Students and Classroom

Kiawah Cares is already looking forward to the new school year for Sea Island students with the Adopt-a-Classroom campaign.

The Adopt-a-Classroom program aims to meet classroom needs at Angel Oak and Frierson elementary schools. Classrooms are woefully underfunded, often forcing teachers to pay out of pocket for supplies. Of each $200 gift, the Adopt-a-Classroom program will provide funding for each teacher to purchase the supplies they need in the classroom. Another $100 will support the Kiawah Women’s Foundation’s backpack buddies program, which helps meet the needs for children who may otherwise lack access to adequate nutrition.

This program is an adaptation of the popular Adopt-a-Student program. Thanks to your incredible generosity during last year’s campaign, that program, which provides new uniforms to students in need, is fully funded for the 2018-2019 school year! What an amazing accomplishment!

You may make your donation (now through Aug. 31) conveniently online, or mail your $200 check payable to the Kiawah Cares Foundation to 23 Beachwalker Drive, Kiawah Island, SC 29455. KCF will provide the Kiawah Women’s Foundation with a check in full for their portion of the sponsorships.
